Shopee Product Listing Checklist Philippines
By Jerome Ko · Reviewed August 16, 2026 · Sources & methodology
The short answer
A publishable Shopee listing makes the exact product, chosen variation, price, stock, and fulfilment promise easy to verify before a shopper checks out. Start with the category and its attributes, then make the title, images, variation names, description, and shipping fields describe the same item. Check the live Seller Centre form before publishing because its fields and limits can change.
This is a working checklist, not a ranking formula. Shopee says accurate categories and attributes can help a product’s visibility, and rich product information can make listings more useful to shoppers. Neither statement guarantees a search position, traffic level, conversion rate, or sales result. Treat every change as a way to reduce buyer uncertainty, then observe the actual listing and order outcomes.
The official details cited below apply to Shopee Philippines. Where this page recommends an order of work, a review habit, or an example wording, it is this site’s editorial advice—not a Shopee requirement. Official policy and the live listing screen control when they differ.
Keyword and title checklist
Choose the category before trying to make a title clever. Shopee’s Product Category Guide lets sellers check product examples, relevant attribute types, and attribute values. Use it to find the closest product family, then complete the attributes that actually describe your SKU. Do not use a vaguely related category just because its label contains a popular search term.
Shopee’s Good Product Name Guidelines say to name products in English; capitalize the first letter of each word; avoid all caps except brand names; and avoid subjective or promotional messages, prices, irrelevant keyword spam, emoticons, hashtags, and listed symbols. Those are platform guidelines, so make them the hard boundary for the title.
- Official boundary: use an English product name and remove “Best Seller,” “Sale,” “Free Shipping,” voucher claims, price claims, irrelevant words, emojis, hashtags, and decorative symbols from the title.
- Editorial advice: write the searchable product noun first, then a real brand or type, the buyer-relevant material/model/size where applicable, and the variation-defining detail only when it is genuinely part of the offer.
- Read the title next to the cover image. If the title promises a bundle, quantity, compatible model, or variant that the image does not show, resolve the mismatch before publishing.
- Keep a separate note of the buyer terms you tested; do not paste every possible synonym into one title.
A useful title is specific without becoming a receipt line. “Stainless Steel Water Bottle 750 ml with Straw Lid” tells a buyer more than “BEST BOTTLE SALE FREE SHIPPING 750ML.” The first is an editorial example, not a required title format. The second violates several current name guidelines.
Image checklist
Shopee’s image-and-description guidance says sellers may upload up to nine images including the cover photo for a product SKU, with additional variation and size-chart images. Its listing FAQ says one cover video can be uploaded for each product listing. Use the live form as the final authority for what your account and category accept. Shopee’s listing-quality guidance also tells sellers to use relevant, high-resolution images and to avoid unauthorized images owned by other sellers, websites, or platforms.
- Make the cover image show the actual item clearly; Shopee recommends a product-focused image, with the product unwrapped where appropriate and without unrelated items creating confusion.
- Check that the brand, pack count, colour, model, and included accessories shown in media match the selected SKU.
- Use supporting images to answer questions a buyer cannot answer from the cover: angles, dimensions, labels, material, setup, in-use context, variation appearance, and what is included.
- Where relevant, ensure a size chart or variation image names the same measurement unit and option labels used in the variation selector.
- Use only media you own or are authorised to use. Do not make a stock image imply that an accessory, feature, or bundle is included when it is not.
Our editorial sequence is to choose the cover image first, then arrange the additional media in the order a buyer would need it: product identity, scale or specifications, use, and variant proof. That order is a usability recommendation, not an official image-order rule. If a cover video adds useful proof, verify its caption and frames against the listing details just as carefully as the photos.
Variation and attribute checklist
Attributes and variations do different jobs. Attributes describe a product within its chosen category; variations let a shopper select a real purchasable option. The Category Guide exposes attribute types and values for the category. Shopee’s listing FAQ says a listing can have up to two variation types, such as colour and memory size. It also says sellers manage listed products through My Products in Seller Centre.
- Select the category first, then fill in the attributes that truthfully apply. Do not invent a material, model, compatibility, or certification to complete a field.
- Use variation names that a buyer can distinguish without looking at a seller note. “Black / 750 ml” is clearer than “Option A / Option B.”
- Confirm each variation has the correct price, stock, image where available, and delivery-ready item. A shared title does not make an inaccurate variation acceptable.
- Keep a combined product separate when it has different core products, misleading variation choices, or different buyer promises. The right structure depends on the live listing rules and category.
Do not turn “up to two variation types” into a design target. One variation type—or none—is often clearer when it matches the item. Likewise, do not claim that selecting every possible attribute will rank a listing; Shopee says accurate information can help visibility, not that every field creates a guaranteed result.
Description structure
Shopee recommends informative descriptions with product specifications, uses and benefits, and applicable warranty information. It separately flags regulated products and product information that must satisfy local requirements. The exact permits, expiration rules, and category controls belong to Shopee’s current policy and Seller Centre—not to this general checklist.
Use this editorial structure for a description that a buyer can scan:
- Identity: state what the item is, the brand or compatible model only when accurate, and the quantity in the listing.
- Specifications: provide the material, dimensions, weight, capacity, electrical or technical facts that matter for the category.
- What is included: name included pieces and clearly separate non-included accessories.
- Use and fit: explain normal use, compatibility limits, care needs, and size/measurement context without making unsupported performance claims.
- After-sale information: state an applicable warranty accurately, including its period and scope; do not invent one to make the listing look safer.
Check language across the title, description, images, and variations. Shopee’s guidance specifically says product name, description, image, and variation should be in English, while it notes that Filipino words are treated differently. If a product itself contains foreign characters, follow the current listing guidance rather than assuming this checklist overrides it. Keep the description factual: “includes one charging cable” is stronger than an unprovable “highest quality” claim.
Price and voucher check
Before publishing, open every variation and verify the displayed price and available stock. Shopee’s listing-quality guidance says a seller can set different price or stock availability for each variation. As this site’s editorial instruction, verify the current campaign and voucher terms in Seller Centre before you enrol a listing or make a buyer-facing promotional claim.
For your own operating review, establish a documented price floor before offering a seller-funded voucher or discount. The Fee Calculator can estimate modelled Shopee fee and margin effects for a completed-order scenario, but it cannot make uncertain shipping treatment, optional-program adjustments, returns, or your own packing costs disappear. The public calculator uses a conservative post-waiver seller context; treat its result as an estimate, read its warnings, and compare it with your records.
- Confirm the regular price, every variation price, stock, and the exact SKU covered by a seller-funded offer.
- Record whether the promotion changes the buyer-facing price, the seller’s cost, or both; read the current campaign terms before joining.
- Do not put a stale sale price, voucher amount, or “free shipping” promise in the title. Shopee’s naming guidance prohibits price and promotional messages in titles.
- Do not claim a universal margin, discount limit, or fee rate. Those depend on category, programmes, seller context, and current platform rules.
Shipping data
Shopee tells sellers to enter accurate shipping information and enable the logistics options available to the listing. It defines Days to Ship as the time a seller needs to prepare an item for shipment; the current DTS guidance and the order screen are the authority for the deadline that applies to your shop.
- Confirm the actual packed weight, dimensions if required, pickup or drop-off readiness, and any handling limitation before making the SKU live.
- Enable only the logistics choices displayed as available for the shop and listing; availability varies and is not something this guide can promise.
- Set the correct preparation expectation. If the item needs more preparation, follow Shopee’s current pre-order policy and category requirements rather than leaving a standard listing to become late.
- Recheck shipping data when packaging, supplier lead time, inventory location, or bundled contents change.
Editorial rule of thumb: if the listing could lead a buyer to expect a parcel that you cannot pack and hand over within the shown commitment, do not publish it unchanged. This is an operational safeguard, not a substitute for Shopee’s live fulfilment policy.
Trust and conversion elements
Trust comes from consistency, not badge collecting. Make the image, title, selected variation, specifications, price, stock, and shipping expectation agree. Responding to a buyer question by changing one fact in a chat while leaving the listing wrong creates the next buyer’s problem.
These are editorial recommendations that can make the decision clearer, not platform requirements or conversion promises:
- Put the most decision-changing specification near the top of the description.
- Show an accurate comparison of variations when the choice changes size, capacity, fit, compatibility, or contents.
- State what is not included where an image could reasonably imply it is included.
- Review repeated buyer questions and revise the relevant image, attribute, or description only after checking that the new fact is true for every affected SKU.
A strong listing still may not sell if the market, price, stock, campaign eligibility, or buyer demand changes. Avoid promises that “optimised” media or keywords will deliver first-page rank, a fixed click-through rate, or automatic sales.
Pre-publish QA
Preview the item as a buyer where Seller Centre permits it, and check the selected variation—not only the default. Perform this short reconciliation immediately before publishing or after a material edit:
- Does the category match the item, and do attributes describe the actual SKU?
- Does the title follow Shopee’s current name guidelines without promotional clutter or irrelevant words?
- Does the cover image identify the exact item, and do the remaining images add factual evidence?
- Do all variation labels, prices, stock values, and images agree?
- Does the description state specifications, included contents, use/fit, and applicable warranty accurately?
- Is the price viable after the seller’s own costs, promotional treatment, and a conservative fee review?
- Are the available shipping choices and preparation expectation true for this SKU today?
If you cannot answer one of those questions with product evidence, resolve it before you spend on ads or promotions. The goal is not a perfect-looking form; it is a buyer-facing promise your shop can fulfil.
Post-publish review
Publishing is the beginning of quality control. In Seller Centre, use My Products to review the actual listing and the current category or attribute information. Check a published variation after a stock or price change, a new campaign, a new supplier batch, or a buyer report that exposes a mismatch.
Use a simple editorial review loop: write down one observed problem, identify the source field that caused it, correct only the affected fact, then note the date and result. For example, if buyers repeatedly ask whether a cable is included, compare the cover image, variation label, and description before changing the description. If the image implies inclusion, change the media too. Do not infer that one edit caused a sales result without a stable comparison period.
For paid traffic, first check that the product is buyer-ready. Then use the Shopee Ads profitability guide and the calculator to set a documented budget boundary. Advertising can bring a shopper to a listing; it cannot make inaccurate product data safe or guarantee a sale.

Before-and-after listing example
This fictional example illustrates clarity only; it is not an official template or a claim about ranking performance.
| Field | Before | After | Why the revision is clearer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Title | BEST BOTTLE SALE 750ML FREE SHIPPING!!! | Stainless Steel Water Bottle 750 ml with Straw Lid | Removes prohibited promotional clutter and identifies the product. |
| Variation | Option A / Option B | Black / Navy | Lets a buyer understand the selection. |
| Images | One crop with several accessories | Cover photo of bottle; images of lid, capacity marking, and included cleaning brush | Separates product identity from included contents. |
| Description | Good quality, complete set | 750 ml bottle; stainless-steel body; straw lid; includes one cleaning brush; hand-wash care note | Replaces a subjective claim with checkable facts. |
Before copying any wording, replace every example fact with verified SKU information. If the brush is not included for a variation, say so or separate that variation; do not rely on the table to solve a product-data mismatch.
Short answer: Publish only after the category, title, media, variations, price, stock, and shipping details describe the same product; check the live Seller Centre form when a platform field changes.
